50Hz Gamer is intent on creating reliable, gamer-centric reviews. 50Hz Gamer operates around the idea that games should be entertaining to gamers. While innovation is praised in reviews it does not reflect badly on a game with little innovation so long as the game has a solid feature-set.
Reviews will cover basic game elements which gamers will want to know these include; game story, gameplay modes and controls, major flaws, game breaking bugs or glitches (including frame rate issues), game length (if game is very short or is a good length) and how fun the game is. Reviews may come with examples of other games like it and suggest players who may enjoy the game.
Reviews will never be influenced by publishers or developers who habour interest in 50Hz Gamer through advertising revenue or exclusive information. 50Hz Gamer will attempt to be as honest as possible, with the whole
range of scoring used where appropriate.
50Hz Gamer preview games based on media and information supplied by the company used to promote it's games. As such, previews are mostly based on speculation or pre-release demos or preview builds.
Previews should not, under any circumstances be considered a true reflection of a video game and it's final, retail version.
Previews are used merely to inform people about video games and express interest in up-coming software, they should not be confused with reviews.
Since 24th May 2010, 50Hz Gamer has changed the scoring system it uses to rate games at-a-glance. Rather than using a numeric system, it's now a 2-tier system which expresses an opinion rather than a 'factual' numeric score forumlated by star signs or maybe the occasional magical talking abacus. Here's how it works now:

Yep, they pretty much speak for themselves. Dislike means that the game wasn't much to my tastes, if you disliked games I disliked in the past then you're probably best off to avoid this game.

Again, pretty much what you expect. If you like other games I like, then you're probably going to enjoy this game. Of course, if you're just seeing the icon and taking that as my whole review you probably deserve the displeasure you'll recieve from playing the game.
