fter a worrying few months for developers Terminal Reality and Red Fly Studios (who are making two different versions of the game) when their publisher; Sierra was dissolved by their parent company: Activision, Ghostbusters has landed in the hands of Atari.
The game, which has a story written by the same guys from the movies; Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. Ghostbusters the video game has been heralded as Ghostbusters 3 rather than a spin-off. Fans will be disappointed to hear that the long-rumoured third movie script will not be used in this game, instead a new script will be used incorporating bits and bobs from the script in question.
Your role in the game is playing as a new Ghostbuster who has been
cleverly named; Rookie. Regardless of this, you'll quickly find yourself chasing some memorable ghosts from the Ghostbusters movies such as Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man (
pictured right).
The game boasts some impressive visuals, with an enourmous amount of detail put into the Proton Packs which characters have on their backs. Ghosts look like they did in the movies, which isn't really that hard since the movies are now 24 years old and special effects weren't quite the calibre they are now.
Ghostbusters will appeal to fans of the Ghostbusters films.
I'm sure as Christmas is on the way, you'll be seeing a lot more Ghostbusters on TV which will probably hype this game up for you...
