Professor Layton 4 going state-side. Fearing that Professor Layton's fourth instalment on the Nintendo DS was going to be missed in favour of the more immediate release of the Prof's 3DS outing? Well, good news. Nintendo have announced the game for release in America later this year, hopefully Nintendo Europe will announce a very similar, perhaps differently named version of the title for release later this year or early next year.

Entitled "Professor Layton and the Last Specter", a slight alteration of the Japanese title; "Professor Layton and the Spectre's Flute" the game is a prequel to the original Professor Layton trilogy which explores how Luke and Layton met. The Japanese version of the game includes an RPG element called "London Life" which is said to run over 100 hours in game time, it has yet to be confirmed if the feature will make an appearance in the localised versions of the game.

Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright team up. Level 5 and Capcom have announced a new cross-over video game between beloved attorney at law Phoenix Wright and the equally beloved puzzle-solving academic; Professor Layton. The game will be released for the Nintendo 3DS sometime in the near future, unless it gets lost (or unwound, if you're American) or anyone has any objections.
